How to spot scams and phishing
The one rule that beats nearly everything, plus common tricks and what to do if targeted.
Scams don't usually break in — they talk their way in. Knowing their shapes is your best defence.
The one rule that beats nearly everything
Aurra will never ask for your PIN or a one-time code. Never ask you to move money to a "safe" account or "confirm" details. Anyone who does is not Aurra.
Common scams
- Fake support: claims your account will be closed unless you act now, asks for PIN/code. Real support never needs either.
- Phishing links: messages with links that look like login pages but capture your details. Type addresses yourself.
- SIM swap: someone gets your number reissued to intercept codes. Sudden network loss = warning sign → freeze.
- Overpayment/"send it back": bogus credit appears, you're asked to refund difference. Check your real balance first.
- Pressure & secrecy: fast deadlines, unusual payment methods, "keep it quiet." Legitimate money never needs rush/hiding.
Before you pay anyone
Use the account-name check on every send-money screen. Name mismatch = stop.
If you think you've been targeted
- Don't share PIN/code. Hang up or stop replying.
- Freeze: send
freezeon WhatsApp or use dashboard. - Report to support@aurra.online and block/report sender on WhatsApp.
